D.J. Byrd scored 22 points to lead Purdue to a 73-61 win over Clemson on Wednesday at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson. Purdue (3-3) went into the locker room with the momentum and came out of the second half flying as well.

FINAL: D.J. Byrd scored 22 points to lead Purdue to a 73-61 win over Clemson on Wednesday at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson. Purdue (3-3) went into the locker room with the momentum and came out of the second half flying as well. Leading 25-17 with 7:48 to go in the first half, the Boilermakers used a 20-5 spurt to open their cushion to 23 points early in the second half.

Purdue shot 52 percent from the field (25-of-48). The Boilermakers were on fire from beyond the arc during the game, shooting 44 percent (8-of-18). Purdue also got double-digit contributions from Terone Johnson, who scored 13 and Ronnie Johnson and A.J. Hammons, who each scored 10. Devin Booker contributed 18 points and shot 7-of-10 from the field for Clemson (4-2) in a losing effort. The Tigers also got a double-digit contribution from K.J. McDaniels, who scored 15. .

HALFTIME: D.J. Byrd scored 20 points for Purdue as the Boilermakers lead Clemson 42-22 at the half. The Tigers trailed 25-17 before allowing the Boilermakers to go on a 17-5 run to close the half. Purdue held a lead before breaking out for a run to close the half. Trailing 13-7, Clemson went cold, going 3:03 without a point while the Boilermakers went on a 7-0 run to open up a 13-point lead.

The long-distance game has been bottled up for the Tigers, who made 1-of-10 from beyond the arc in the first half, while shooting 69 percent (9-of-13) on two-point shots. Purdue made it rain from long range, shooting 54 percent (7-of-13) from three-point land. Seven Purdue players have scored. Clemson's Devin Booker had a big first half, with seven points.
