My sons, and I have been going to Wisconsin basketball games at the Kohl Center since it opened. We have seats directly behind the TV announcers, so we have had the pleasure of enjoying some of the best play by play people, and the analysts( Al McGuire, Bobby Knight, Brent Musburger, Dickie V., and many more) . But NO one can compare with Gus Johnson. While we can’t hear the majority of the broadcast while at the game ( we always see, and hear it on the BTN replay) the energy, and enthusiasm that comes from Gus is terrific. Not only is the broadcast Great, but Gus is always interacting with the crowd during the breaks. The only other announcer that even comes close is Jim Jackson. Another outstanding former player that is just as good calling the game as he was playing. That combination is the BEST!
