Illinois had a coaching change and new head coach Tim Beckman was able to come in and close the class out for the Illini. One of the top guys in the class comes from in-state, Lincoln Way East wide receiver J.J. Robertson who brings big play ability and ball skills to the table.

Beckman and his staff also used their connections in the state of Ohio to grab Orrville High tackling machine Mason Monheim and another productive linebacker in Mike Svetina. The state of Florida has been an area Illinois has gone to in recent years and this class is no different. The Illini picked up five from the Sunshine State, including St. Thomas Aquinas tailback Dami Ayoola and a sleeper cornerback Jevaris Little from St. Petersburg.

One of the top players in the class might be Cleveland area standout Lakeith Walls, who switched from NC State and has the size (6?3, 200) and athleticism to project to multiple positions.
