The Big Ten Conference released its weekly Wrestler of the Week honor Tuesday. The third honor of the season went to Minnesota’s Kevin Steinhaus, who helped the Gophers upset reigning national champ Penn State. See what else he did to earn the award in this post.
Wrestler of the Week: Kevin Steinhaus, Minnesota, 184 – So. – Pennock, Minn. – Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg
- Led No. 4 Minnesota to its first Big Ten win of the season over No. 2 Penn State, taking down top-ranked Quentin Wright, 6-1, to help the Gophers to a 23-14 win over the defending NCAA and Big Ten Champion Nittany Lions
- Also wrestled against No. 4 Steve Bosak of Cornell in the Gophers’ dual against the fifth-ranked Big Red on Friday, falling in an 8-2 decision
- Earns the second weekly award of his career and his first this season
