In the opening match, No. 2 Minnesota (29-4) fell to No. 6 Stanford, 3-1 (26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22). This was the Gophers' second consecutive Final Four berth, and fifth in program history. Minnesota has never won the National Championship.
Later, No. 1 Nebraska faced No. 4 Texas in the next semifinal but fell 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-21). The Huskers also made it back in the Final Four in back-to-back years, and they took the national title back to Lincoln in 2015.
This was the Huskers' 13th trip to the NCAA semifinal and they have won four national championships.
Heads held high.
So much to be proud of with this team.It wasn?t a repeat, but we still our seniors off as champions.#GBRAlways
