(AP) Indiana guard James Blackmon Jr., the team's second-leading scorer, is out indefinitely with a right knee injury.

The sophomore was scheduled for surgery Tuesday afternoon, before the team played Wisconsin. He was hurt in practice last week. The team has not provided details about the injury.

Coach Tom Crean issued a statement calling it a "very tough outcome" for the team and said Blackmon faces a tough road to make a full recovery.

Blackmon is averaging 15.8 points per game and is third in the Big Ten in both 3-point percentage (46.3) and 3s made per game (2.8). He missed part of last summer's workouts after having surgery on his left knee.
