The Penn State women?s cross country program won its second Big Ten Championship on Sunday with 53 points, placing three runners in the top nine at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course.

The Nittany Lions, who won their first crown since 2009, were led by senior Tori Gerlach with a time of 20:04.9 (4th place), followed by Elizabeth Chikotas (6th place) and Jillian Hunsberger (9th place).

Michigan junior Erin Finn won her second career Big Ten Championships title with a 6K time of 19:44.9, helping the Wolverines to second overall with 58 points. Finn improved on her time this season from her 2013 time of 20:48. She became just the fifth runner to win multiple Big Ten titles and first since Wisconsin?s Erica Palmer won back-to-back races in 1999 and 2000.

Defending national champ Michigan State took third place as a team with 104 points, led by junior Alexis Wiersma in second place individually with a time of 19:49.9. Illinois? Alyssa Schneider clocked 19:58.6 for third place.

The Big Ten Cross Country Championships will be carried on BTN via tape-delay at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 12.
