BTN Originals brings back Big Ten Treasure Hunter for its second season debut at 8 PM ET Tuesday on the Big Ten Network.
Sports memorabilia expert John Arcand headlines the show, which focuses on unique collections and the fans who compiled them. Each 30-minute episode features Arcand meeting with collectors to understand the story behind the items they've spent years gathering, and then considering if there is a deal to be made. From helmets to hair, sports books to swords, Arcand examines every item. and negotiates with passionate Big Ten fans.
Highlights of the season include:
? A fan with an extensive collection of old football board games
? A Purdue collector who owns a 1930's-era All American certificate for John Wooden (and who demands an astronomical amount from Arcand)
? Negotiating with a seven-year-old collector
? A collection of Northwestern memorabilia that Arcand purchases in one fell swoop.
"BTN Originals is focused on great storytelling that marries the passion of Big Ten sports with human connections," said Bill Friedman, coordinating producer of BTN Originals. "This season of Big Ten Treasure Hunter will be terrific television."
BTN and Arcand traveled extensively this summer to find Big Ten sports memorabilia tucked away in basements or displayed proudly in homes across the country. He also met with fans who submitted details of their collections to btn.com. All 14 Big Ten schools are represented in the eight-episode series, which airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on BTN and BTN2Go.
Arcand is a 25-year veteran of the sports memorabilia industry. He owns Big John & Little Debby's Collectibles in western suburban Chicago and is always on the look for new and innovative items.
