Browns fans are already starting up a '#FailForCardale? campaign before the season. Too soon? http://t.co/AKx5rnWNHP pic.twitter.com/ISIWHYKkuO

Cardale Jones' NFL prospects received a huge boost when he took the first snap Monday night at Virginia Tech.

Just ask a Cleveland Browns fan.
The starved fan base has launched a #FailForCardale Twitter campaign that pushes for tanking the season in order to draft the winner of the much-talked-about and over-analyzed Ohio State quarterback competition. The hashtag was trending nationwide. Naturally, the campaign has a Twitter handle, too.
All of this before a single snap in the NFL season.
This shouldn't come as a big surprise, considering no NFL team has had more recent struggles or turnover under center than the Browns; in fact, it's been a cast of characters since the Bernie Kosar era ended in the early 1990s.
So, when a talent with the size and arm of Jones plays in your home state and wins your college team the national championship, it's only natural to want him on your NFL team, too.
Jones gave Browns fans plenty to like in the season opener – his fourth career start and first in a true road game – throwing for 186 yards and two touchdowns and running for 99 yards and a score.
Here are a few #FailForCardale tweets:
1 more long season for the Greatest College to NFL QB, I can deal with that... #FailForCardale

I am 100% on board for the #Browns to tank and #FailForCardale. Jimmy wants him. Team needs him. 0-16.
