During the press conference, Green was asked about the impact Michigan State's Tom Izzo has had on him, both as a player and as a man.

"That's the thing I love about Coach Izzo is, him raising you into a man when you get to his program is 10 times more important than what type of basketball player you become," Green said. "The impact that he had on me and my life is through the roof, and that's why we're so close today."

The former Big Ten Player of the Year played a large role in the Warriors' NBA championship run this season, averaging 13.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in the postseason.
