With its 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-14) win over BYU on Saturday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla., fifth-seeded Penn State won the 2014 NCAA Volleyball Championship, its sixth title in the last eight years and seventh overall.

Penn State?s seven national championships mark an NCAA record. The Nittany Lions claimed back-to-back national titles for the first time since 2009 and 2010. The Big Ten has now won seven national championships in the past nine years.
Penn State?s Megan Courtney and Aiyana Whitney recorded 11 kills each against the Cougars, while Dominique Gonzalez added 16 digs and Micha Hancock tallied 36 assists.
Penn State finishes its season with a 36-3 overall record, including an 18-2 mark in Big Ten play.
