Drew Crawford went 6-of-11 from the field and led five Northwestern players in double digits with 19 points as the Wildcats defeated Baylor 74-70 on Tuesday at Ferrell Center in Waco. Northwestern also got double-digit contributions from Reggie Hearn (17), Dave Sobolewski (13), Jared Swopshire (12) and Alex Olah (10).
Northwestern (7-2) nearly blew the 18-point lead that Crawford gave them on a field goal midway through the second half.
The Wildcats were able to carry momentum into the break and sustain it to start the second half. The game was a stalemate at 32-32 when Northwestern went on a 22-4 spurt to take an 18-point lead in the middle of the second half.

HALFTIME: Jared Swopshire and Drew Crawford each scored eight points to lead Northwestern to a 35-32 lead over Baylor at the end of the first half. The long-distance game has been bottled up for the Bears, who made 2-of-7 from beyond the arc in the first half, while shooting 65 percent (11-of-17) on two-point shots. Seven Baylor players have scored. The Wildcats made 12 of 19 two-point shots in the first half, but shot 3-of-11 from beyond the arc.
