Devyn Marble scored 22 points and Melsahn Basabe blocked a potential game-tying layup with 21 seconds left to help Iowa hold off Penn State 74-72 on Thursday night. Iowa (16-9, 5-7 Big Ten) led by at least 10 twice in the game but couldn’t put away the league’s last-place team until late.
Ohio State’s Sam Thompson has proven to be a master dunker this season, and he put on a bit of a show on Thursday night in the win over Northwestern. After a tight game that went back and forth (full coverage here), the Buckeyes pulled ahead late. And that’s when Thompson executed an uncontested 360-degree dunk.

During the halftime of Thursday’s game between Northwestern and Ohio State, Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller was presented with The Chicago Tribune’s Silver Football as the Big Ten’s top player of the 2012 season as voted by the 12 coaches. Braxton was named on 11 of 12 possible ballots (coaches cannot vote for their own players), receiving 5 first- and 5 second-place votes. Wisconsin’s Montee Ball came in second; Nebraska’s Taylor Martinez took third.

Deshaun Thomas scored 22 points and No. 13 Ohio State used a late 12-0 run to beat Northwestern 69-59 on Thursday night, the Buckeyes’ 32nd consecutive home win against the Wildcats. Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 12 points – all in the first half – with Sam Thompson adding 11 and Amir Williams a career-high 10 for the Buckeyes (18-6, 8-4 Big Ten).

Andre Hollins hit the go-ahead 3-pointer midway through overtime to finish with 21 points and lead Minnesota to a 58-53 victory over No. 20 Wisconsin on Thursday night. It was third straight game Wisconsin went to overtime.
