The University of Minnesota (7-3) women’s basketball team snapped Denver’s three-game win streak Wednesday night with a 74-51 win over the visiting Pioneers (3-4) at Williams Arena. Sophomore Rachel Banham posted 21 points, seven rebounds, a career-high seven assists and four steals to lead the Golden Gophers, while junior Micaëlla Riché added 19 points, six rebounds, a block and a steal in the winning effort.

Trey Burke had 20 points and seven assists, and No. 3 Michigan eased past Western Michigan for a 73-41 victory Tuesday night. The Wolverines (8-0) had actually lost their previous two games against the Broncos, but that was more than a decade ago.
Brandon Paul scored 14 points and No. 13 Illinois earned a 72-64 win over Western Carolina on Tuesday. Western Carolina tied the game at 54-54 with 6:15 left. Illinois guard D.J. Richardson hit 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions for a 62-56 lead. Richardson finished with 13 points.
