It was another busy Saturday on the Big Ten hardwood. Seven teams were in action (catch up on all the games), and even though Illinois (Missouri) and Ohio State (Kansas) fell in the day’s biggest tests, there were plenty of highlights and strong individual performances. Watch Saturday’s top plays and see the top statlines in this post.
Ryan Evans scored a season-high 19 points, Ben Brust opened and closed a 17-1 first-half run with 3-pointers and Wisconsin routed Milwaukee 74-53 on Saturday night at the Kohl Center. Traevon Jackson added a career-best 13 points and Jared Berggren had 11 as Wisconsin (8-4) beat its state rivals for the 20th consecutive season and improved to 29-1 in the teams’ all-time series.
Starting guard Joe Coleman scored 12 points, and No. 13/16 Minnesota got 42 points from its reserves in a 75-50 rout of Lafayette on Saturday night. Otto Osenieks added 10 points for the Gophers (12-1), who have won eight straight.

Kansas big man Jeff Withey leads the nation in blocks, averaging 5.4 swats per game entering Saturday’s game at Ohio State. So, as you can imagine, not many players succeed in challenging the stud center near the rim. Unless your name is Lenzelle Smith Jr., apparently. The Ohio State junior went at Withey and hammered home a left-handed slam in the first half of Saturday afternoon’s loss. Watch the dunk here.
Redshirt freshman Ben McLemore scored 22 points and No. 9 Kansas proved it was more than just a bully at home by beating seventh-ranked Ohio State 74-66 on Saturday. It was the third victory for the Jayhawks (10-1) in little more than a year over the Buckeyes (9-2). Kansas won a 64-62 thriller in last year’s NCAA semifinals.
Injuries have kept Iowa senior Eric May from being the player many thought he’d become following an impressive freshman campaign. That doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of the occasional big game or highlight-reel play, though. May flashed his incredible athleticism – not to mention strength – on a silly And-1 flush during Saturday’s win vs. Coppin State. Watch the dunk now.
