How can you top last week in the Big Ten, which saw Minnesota play at Indiana and Michigan travel to Ohio State? You can’t. Still, this week has some nice matchups. The top tilt is Michigan’s trip to Minnesota. But there also is Wisconsin at Indiana on Tuesday and Ohio State at Michigan State on Saturday, making this another key week in the Big Ten schedule.

Warning to the Big Ten: If a player loses a shoe in Aaron White’s vicinity, be alert. In Sunday’s win at Northwestern, the Iowa sophomore nearly took out Fran McCaffery when he threw Alex Marcotullio’s shoe off the court. It was an alert move by White, actually, because play continued despite the flat tire. Thing is, in his attempt to get rid of the footwear and return to his spot on the floor in a timely manner, White tossed an absolute laser toward the Iowa bench.
Derrick Nix made two free throws with a minute left and finished with 17 points to help No. 22 Michigan State pull away for a 66-56 victory over Nebraska on Sunday night. The Spartans (14-3, 3-1 Big Ten) have won three straight and kept the Cornhuskers (9-8, 0-4) from winning their first conference game this season.
