In this week’s web-only “BTN Wrestling Report,” BTN’s Kara Lentz is joined by Penn State’s Quentin Wright, who won his second career Big Ten title (197 lbs) last weekend to help lead Penn State to its third consecutive Big Ten Wrestling Championships. Also, the BTN wrestling broadcast team of Tim Johnson and Jim Gibbons takes a closer look at the action and gives some final thoughts.

With the major league tournaments about to start, let’s take one last look at some mock brackets to see where the Big Ten rates. Indiana remains a No. 1 seed in the four brackets I checked. And there’s nothing that can happen in the Big Ten tourney—or elsewhere, for that matter—that will change that. And a spot in the cozy Midwest Region (Dayton, Ohio; then Indianapolis) also is basically a given, too, no matter what the Hoosiers do in Chicago.

On Sunday we asked BTN viewers and BTN.com readers to go to the BTN’s Facebook page and vote for their favorite Big Ten men’s basketball game of the year. The top five games would air on Wednesday, one day before the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament. The results are in and the TV schedule is set.
BTN made the exclusive announcement of the annual Big Ten basketball awards during the live “All-Conference Selection Show” on Monday night.

What a season, huh? It might not even be hyperbole to say it was one of the best we’ve seen. From the Big Ten dominating the national polls to the countless upsets to the incredible finishes, the 2012-13 season is one we won’t soon forget. There also were more than our share of memorable plays. I rank the top ones (non-dunks) in this post. I’ll have an all-dunk post later this week.

Putting together a list of the top 10 games of the 2013 Big Ten season is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. It’s impossible to do. But, I have attempted to select the best of the best from a regular season that left fans in a heap of exhaustion from an overdose of excitement and exhilaration. This truly was one of the Big Ten’s best seasons in more than 20 years—and it isn’t over yet!
