Purdue Upsets No. 23 Illinois

(AP) Caleb TerBush passed for 178 yards and two touchdowns to help Purdue upset No. 23 Illinois 21-14 on Saturday afternoon. Raheem Mostert ran for a touchdown and tackled the punter on a play that led to another score for the Boilermakers (4-3, 2-1 Big Ten). It was Purdue’s first victory over a ranked team since beating No. 7 Ohio State in 2009. Illinois (6-2, 2-2) lost its second straight. The Fighting Illini scored on a 16-yard run by Jason Ford with 8:12 remaining, and a 2-yard run by quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase to cut Purdue’s lead to 21-14 with 54 seconds to play. Wisconsin Trips Up Indiana

Indiana Volleyball (8-14, 0-10) fell in four sets to Wisconsin (13-9, 5-5) in five sets (25-20, 18-25, 18-25, 19-25). IU got 16 kills from Ivie Obiemeand five service aces from Caitlin Cox. The Northwestern Wildcats Put Away The Tigers

No. 20 Northwestern got off to another fast start on Friday at Lakeside Field as redshirt freshman Kelsey Thompson scored her first career goal, giving the ‘Cats the early 1-0 lead over the Pacific Tigers just 10 minutes in. Upon Further Review: Touchdown

Week 8 ended in absolutely unbelievable fashion, with Michigan State throwing a last-second Hail Mary to hand No. 6 Wisconsin its first loss the season. The original call on the field had the Spartans short of the goal line, but the call was reversed. In other Week 8 action, Iowa knocked off Indiana, Purdue topped Illinois, Nebraska ran past Minnesota and Penn State held off Northwestern.
