Next Level: NCAA Football vs. NFL

Seeing as how “The Next Level” crew spends much of the football season analyzing the transition from the college game to the NFL, who better to consult about the differences between the two levels than Big Ten products in the NFL? That’s exactly what the show did Tuesday night with a piece featuring former Big Ten standouts on the Chicago Bears, including Anthony Adams, Gabe Carimi, Kellen Davis and Dane Sanzenbacher, among others. So what did the Big Ten products say? You’ll have to watch the feature to figure out. Also, check out our interview with Michigan State defensive tackle Jerel

Jump Around with BTN's Jay Wilson

We went back and dug up this clip from Wisconsin’s game against South Dakota. We aired it on TV live originally, but it’s worth watching again. In his suit and tie BTN sideline reporter Jay Wilson climbs up into the stands at Camp Randall and takes part in “Jump Around.” And after it’s all over, he says his calves feel like the weigh “about 50 pounds.”

Mic'd Mondays: Ball & Jenkins

Monday night, we interviewed two of Week 5’s biggest stars, Wisconsin’s Montee Ball (151 yards, 4 TDs) and Illinois’ A.J. Jenkins (12 rec., 268 yards, 3 TDs). “The Big Ten Pulse” sat down with Ball, who’s scored at least two touchdowns in his last nine regular-season games and leads the nation with 14 touchdowns. What’s it like for Ball, not to mention sidekick James White, to run behind Wisconsin’s massive offensive line? “We feel really comfortable in the huddle, and once the play starts, we feel real comfortable behind those big guys,” Ball told our crew. Jenkins joined “Big Ten

Hall, Herron, Posey Suspended for Week 6

(AP) Three Ohio State players have been suspended for Saturday’s game for accepting too much money for too little work in their summer jobs. Last year’s leading rusher, Daniel Herron, and the top returning receiver, DeVier Posey, along with offensive lineman Marcus Hall will not be permitted to play when the Buckeyes (3-2) play at No. 14 Nebraska on Saturday. Herron and Posey had five-game suspensions – for accepting cash and free or discounted tattoos – extended. They were expected to be reinstated to play this week. Hall will be missing his first game. Pulse: Can Russell Wilson keep rolling?

On tonight’s Big Ten Pulse at 6:30 p.m. ET, our Rick Pizzo, Derek Rackley and Tim Doyle face so many questions. Will there be enough time? So that whole Wisconsin-Nebraska game on Saturday? Were either of our guys surprised by the outcome? And Russell Wilson excelled in his first Big Ten battle, but can he keep it up? And how about the Illinois Fighting Illini? It’s Monday, so we also roll out another “Who Ya Got?” feature asking about Badgers Fan Headgear and leaping players.

Breakdown: Let's Get Defensive

There’s one week of conference games in the books and our Chris Martin (@BTN_Cmart16) and Howard Griffith (@HowardGriffith) are ready to go through it all on Big Ten Breakdown tonight at 7 p.m. ET. How good is the Michigan defense compared to last year? You may be surprised to see what we found. We can stop asking about Wisconsin’s defense now – at least for this week. And Illinois’ A.J. Jenkins has 633 receiving yards in just five games, and he will join us to talk about his amazing game last Saturday. Watch our Web-only preview clip now.
