Penn State's Silas Redd

Dienhart: Week 10 Player Rankings

The Big Ten is loaded with many good running backs (see the stats). In fact, it may be the deepest position in the conference. So, it should be no surprise that Penn State’s Silas Redd has taken over the No. 1 spot in my weekly ranking of the Top 25 players in the Big Ten. Redd has been on a roll of late, running for 129, 142, 131, 164 and 137 yards in his last five games to help push the Nittany Lions to the top of the Leaders Division and make Penn State the lone unbeaten team in conference

Indiana's Damarlo Belcher

Dienhart: Indiana Dismisses Belcher

Indiana had already begun to move along without receiver Damarlo Belcher, who was dismissed from the squad Monday for violating team rules. Belcher had started six games this season, but he missed the Iowa and North Texas games due to injury and was suspended for last week’s game against Northwestern. He paced Indiana with 25 catches for 286 yards and a touchdown. He was on the precipice of becoming Indiana’s all-time leading receiver, but he’ll finish his career with 2,225 receiving yards. James Hardy has the school standard with 2,740. Belcher also has 189 career catches, two behind Hardy for

But it has a tough stretch run—Nebraska, at Ohio State, at Wisconsin–giving the Badgers a shot to still win the Leaders Division and advance to the conference title game. The Legends Division is a three-team race between Nebraska, Michigan and Michigan State. All figure to land good bowls regardless of who prevails. Eight teams—four from each division–look to be postseason bound, while Purdue, Northwestern and Minnesota continue to cling to their bowl hopes.
