The Iowa men’s basketball team torched Quincy, 100-54, in exhibition action Sunday afternoon at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa scored the game’s first 22 points and held Quincy without a field goal for the first 10-plus minutes. It also notched 41 points off 31 turnovers. Four Hawkeyes scored in double figures, paced by freshman Mike Gesell’s 18 points. Josh Oglesby and Eric May each scored 15, and Melsahn Basabe added 10.

It was another interesting Saturday that saw Nebraska continue its hot streak in its quest to win the Legends Division. No. 2 seed Ohio State topped No. 5 seed Illinois, 2-1, to win the program’s third Big Ten Tournament title Sunday afternoon at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind. With the victory, Ohio State (16-4-1) tied the 2004 team for the longest win streak in program history at nine.
The No. 1 seeded Penn State field hockey team claimed its second consecutive Big Ten Tournament Championships on Sunday afternoon with the 2-0 defeat of No. 3 seed Michigan. It is the sixth Championship Title for the Nittany Lions (17-3, 5-1 Big Ten), more than any other school in the history of the Big Ten. The Lions earn the Big Ten’s automatic berth to the NCAA Championship Tournament.
