We knew it was going to be a wild Legends Division race, and it’s lived up to the hype. Every team has played two Big Ten games, with the results yielding a pair of 2-0, 1-1 and 0-2 teams. The preseason contenders with the favorable schedules, Michigan State and Nebraska, are off to perfect starts, while the preseason contenders with the unfavorable schedules, Michigan and Northwestern, check in at 1-1 and 0-2, respectively.
Who’s the best linebacker in the Big Ten? Is it Ohio State’s Ryan Shazier? Michigan State’s Max Bullough or Denicos Allen? How about one of Iowa’s guys: James Morris, Anthony Hitchens or Christian Kirksey? Maybe Illinois’ Jonathan Brown, Penn State’s Glenn Carson or Northwestern’s Chi Chi Ariguzo?

By now, Big Ten football fans know all about John Urschel’s affinity for math. After all, the Penn State senior guard earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics in three years, a master’s in math the next year and now is working on his second master’s (math education). But did you know he used to love Barney, too? Yes, THAT Barney.
My mailbag is getting full as the season hits the halfway mark. And, many of my letters are from antsy Michigan fans and happy Michigan State fans. By the way, only three more weeks until they play! So, let’s dig right in and answer some questions.
