Purdue's Robbie Hummel

Did You See This? Hummel game-winner

It’s been a struggle from the field much of the season for Purdue senior Robbie Hummel. Entering Saturday’s game at Northwestern, the senior forward was shooting a career-low 39 percent and hadn’t hit 50 percent of his shots in any game since Nov. 29. Hummel was under 50 percent again Saturday (5 of 11; 45 percent), but he was money when it mattered most. With the score tied and less than 10 seconds remaining on the clock, Hummel made something out of nothing, hitting an impressive driving leaner to send Purdue past Northwestern. Watch the game-winning shot now. Find more

Iowa sends Purdue to first Big Ten loss

(AP) After losing its first six games against Top 25 teams, Iowa finally knocked off a ranked opponent. Kamille Wahlin scored all 13 of her points in the second half and Iowa upset No. 13 Purdue 59-42 on Saturday, snapping the Boilermakers’ 11-game winning streak. It’s the first Big Ten loss for Purdue, which made one field goal in the final 11 minutes. “We finally got one,” Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said. Iowa (12-10, 4-5 Big Ten) seemed like an unlikely candidate for the upset as the Hawkeyes had lost four of their last five games. Read the full AP
