Big Ten women’s soccer teams took to the field on Wednesday night. Michigan State wasted no time in taking the lead of Wednesday evening’s game against Western Michigan, scoring just 63 seconds into the game and preserving that lead to hold on for the 1-0 victory over the Broncos. Last week it was Ohio State. Now our season of “Tailgate 48″ continued Wednesday night as our hosts Jason Fisher and Alex Curry reported from Iowa’s first home football game of the year. The Journey: Big Ten Football, which will follow the backstories of Big Ten football student-athletes and coaches on and off the field, highlights an extensive slate of BTN fall programming that offers fans more Big Ten football and fall sports coverage than any other network. The Journey debuts Oct. 3.
Big news today as Notre Dame announced it would join the ACC in all sports but—surprise!—football. So, Big Ten fans, trash any hopes you were clinging to about Notre Dame joining your conference. The Big Ten twice has made offers in the past, only to be rebuffed. It wasn’t going to ask a third time. Now this move by Notre Dame all but seals the notion that a Big Ten-Notre Dame marriage won’t happen in a long, long time . If ever.
