Nowadays, football teams bust out new uniform and helmet designs all the time. On Saturday, a handful of Big Ten teams rocked new looks. From Illinois’ first-ever blue-white-blue combo to Purdue’s new black matte alternate helmet, see all the latest designs Big Ten teams rocked in Week 10.
It was easy pickings for Braxton Miller on Saturday in Ohio State’s 56-0 rout of Purdue. In just one half, the Buckeyes quarterback tossed four touchdown passes, including three in the first quarter. That marked the most touchdown passes in a single quarter in his career.
It took less than a minute for No. 4 Ohio State to get on the scoreboard Saturday at Purdue, and it hasn’t slowed down since. To start things off, Doran Grant picked off Danny Etling and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown just 57 seconds into the game. It’s been a highlight show ever since, including a pair of unconventional touchdown passes, one from Braxton Miller and another from Kenny Guiton.
Purdue is going with a Black Out for today’s game vs. No. 4 Ohio State on BTN/BTN2Go. And, yes, that includes a new black matte alternate helmet. The Boilermakers went with a slow reveal of the helmet, decorated with train tracks down the middle, and didn’t debut it until they came out of the tunnel before kickoff. They warmed up in their primary lid.
