Receiver Allen Robinson had three highlight-reel scoring catches and Matt McGlointhrew for four touchdowns to lead Penn State in a 45-22 win Saturday over Indiana. Zack Zwinak added 135 rushing yards, but the Nittany Lions (7-4, 5-2 Big Ten) did most of their damage through the air against the porous Hoosiers (4-7, 2-5).
Stephen Houston had a productive quarter for Indiana. He caught two passes for 90 yards and one touchdown, but the Hoosiers still trail 42-22. Penn State got things going through the air in the quarter, passing for 144 yards. The Nittany Lions have scored the last 14 points.
Aaron Burbridge had a productive quarter for Michigan State. He caught three passes for 45 yards and one touchdown, but the Spartans still trail 20-13. Northwestern made the score 13-5 when David Nwabuisi intercepted Andrew Maxwell’s pass and returned it for a touchdown.
Michigan’s offense looked sharp in the third quarter, scoring 14 points, and the Wolverines now lead 42-10. Michigan finished with 110 yards through the air and 64 on the ground in the quarter. The Wolverines’ defense shut down Iowa, allowing only 11 yards of offense in the quarter.
