It’s Monday in late October, and I find myself typing about Indiana’s possibilities to win the Leaders Division and go to the Big Ten title game. Really. With another Saturday in the rear-view mirror, it’s time to take the temperature of the Big Ten. It was a tough week for the Leaders Division, with four of its six teams losing. Before we turn our attention to Week 10, we need to review how BTN.com fans, Tom Dienhart and yours truly did with our Week 9 predictions. It was a rough week for all involved, as BTN.com fans led the way with a 3-3 record. As a result, BTN.com fans tied Dienhart for the top spot in the season standings, at 54-20. I sit three games behind the pace.

No. 4 Nebraska took down No. 1 Penn State in a five-set thriller (12-25, 32-30, 19-25, 25-23, 15-10) Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum. In front of a roaring 4,193 in attendance, Nebraska produced its third five-set win of the season. Gina Mancuso led Nebraska on the day with 16 kills and 17 digs, while Hannah Werth notched 11 kills and a career-high 27 digs.
There were blocked punts, pick-6s, incredible catches, field goals of more than 50 yards and a game-winning score on the final play of the game in the Big Ten during Week 9. See BTN.com Brent Yarina’s top 10 plays of Week 9 in this post.

Lots of interesting things took place on Saturday, as the Legends Division race got a lot more interesting with Michigan’s loss at Nebraska. It got me thinking that Cornhusker quarterback Taylor Martinez may not be getting all of the credit that he deserves. I discuss that and more in my top 10.
