Prediction: Indiana’s 2013 senior class will hold a special place in Hoosiers fans’ hearts. This is a group, after all, that committed to Tom Crean following the painful 6-25 2008-09 campaign, the team’s first in the wake of the Kelvin Sampson NCAA violations. It’s also a group that took its lumps before helping turn Indiana around and catapulting it back to the top of the sport.
Deshaun Thomas and Aaron Craft scored nine of Ohio State’s points in a decisive 11-2 run, leading the 14th-ranked Buckeyes past No. 2 Indiana 67-58 on Tuesday night. Thomas finished with 18 points and Craft added 15 as the Buckeyes (22-7, 12-5 Big Ten) won their fourth straight.
Devyn Marble scored 21 points and Iowa beat Illinois 63-55 on Tuesday night for its fifth win in seven games. Josh Oglesby added 10 for the surging Hawkeyes (19-11, 8-9 Big Ten). They tied a school record with 12 blocked shots, including six from Gabe Olaseni off the bench.
