In the first all-Big Ten NCAA volleyball title match, No. 2 Penn State took down rival and No. 12 Wisconsin, 3-1, Saturday night in Seattle. The national championship marks Penn State’s fifth in the last seven seasons and sixth all-time, which ties Stanford for the most titles in NCAA women’s volleyball history.
No. 3 Iowa hosted No. 1 Penn State in a rare non-conference battle of Big Ten teams Saturday night. The two coaches decided to schedule the dual meet after the Big Ten schedule did not include a conference date between the teams.

There were five Big Ten hoops games on Saturday and the Big Ten made a huge statement, going a perfect 5-0 on the day. No. 5 Michigan State took down Texas in Austin, Illinois sent Missouri to its first loss, and No. 2 Ohio State made an incredible comeback to drop Notre Dame. Nebraska followed with a blowout win over The Citadel, while Michigan closed out the evening with an impressive victory over Stanford.
Eighteen Big Ten stars, including four first-team honorees, made Phil Steele’s 2013 All-American Team. Michigan State CB Darqueze Dennard, Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier, Penn State WR Allen Robinson and Wisconsin LB Chris Borland paced the Big Ten contingent as first-teamers.
