Michigan star Trey Burke announced Monday that he will return to the Wolverines after flirting with entering the 2012 NBA Draft (story). Meet Purdue Baseball's "Dream Team"

When you hear “Dream Team,” you think Magic, Bird and Jordan, and rightfully so. But there’s a current Dream Team in the Big Ten. The seniors on the Purdue baseball team gave themselves the nickname, and they break their huddles with the phrase. All this from a team that is trying to win its first Big Ten title since 1909. Leading the Big Ten by two games (standings) and ranked for the first time since 2001, the Boilers and their 14 seniors are on the right path. April 8 Big Ten Softball Roundup

The Boilermaker bats were hot on Sunday as Purdue down Indiana softball 11-2 in the final game of the series. Purdue posted 17 hits in the game, including multi-hit efforts by six players. Molly Garst, Lindsey Rains and Tori Chiodo tallied three hits apiece, while Ashley Courtney, Maia Monchek and Ashley Burkhardt each chipped in two. Lexy Moore (16-4) allowed just two runs on six hits. Lora Olson was saddled with the loss after giving up four runs in three innings of work. Meaghan Murphy threw four innings of relief. April 8 Big Ten Baseball Roundup

It was another busy Sunday of action on Big Ten baseball diamonds. Perhaps the most exciting of the six games, Michigan State outlasted archrival Michigan, 10-8, in a 13-inning marathon. Illinois, Ohio State and Purdue also were victorious, as was Penn State, which went out of conference and nipped Canisius. Purdue’s win over Northwestern gave it a two-game cushion atop the Big Ten standings.
