What a week it was on the Big Ten hardwood. We had upsets all over the place. We had a pair of teams carding its first Big Ten win. We had a moment of silence for those affected by the recent Purdue tragedy. We even had a star player blow a kiss to rival fans after a battle for first place. Yeah, it was an interesting week. It was a busy day in Big Ten women’s basketball Sunday, as eight teams were in action. In completed action, Michigan State downed Ohio State, 82-68, Michigan knocked off Wisconsin, 60-44, and No. 13 Penn State drilled Minnesota, 83-53.
Nik Stauskas and Michigan had plenty of reasons to celebrate following their rivalry win at No. 3 Michigan State on Saturday night. Not only did the decision hand Michigan State its first loss and give Michigan sole possession of first place, it marked the team’s third consecutive win over a top 10 team, with two of the wins coming on the road. So, how did Stauskas celebrate? By blowing a kiss to the Breslin Center crowd after the final buzzer.
