There were four Big Ten women’s basketball games on the docket today. Indiana kicked off the action with an 83-78 victory over Minnesota, while Iowa followed with an 81-74 win over Ohio State. Currently playing: No. 16 Penn State vs. Michigan State; No. 18 Nebraska vs. No. 22 Purdue.
John Groce let us know how displeased he was with his team’s play following Wednesday night’s 66-58 loss to Purdue in Champaign. That anger came to a head on Saturday as Groce lost his cool late in the second half of Illinois’ 78-62 loss to Michigan State.
Nik Stauskas has hit a lot of big shots in his year-plus at Michigan. That said, he hasn’t hit many bigger than the clutch 3-pointer he nailed in the final minute Saturday at No. 3 Wisconsin. Up one point and with just under a minute left, Stauskas went between the legs and drained a trey to help Michigan tally its first win in Madison since 1999. Watch the pretty shot in this post.

Iowa won seven of 10 bouts to defeat Nebraska, 22-9, on Saturday at the Devaney Center. The win was Iowa’s seventh straight in the series. Thomas Gilman, Tony Ramos, and Josh Dziewa spotted Iowa a 10-0 lead with two wins and a major decision, but Nebraska kept things close with three wins in matches that featured ranked opponents.
