Illinois entered Sunday’s game at Penn State riding an eight-game losing streak. The Illini’s struggles nor the long trek to State College, Pa., could keep 120 members of the Orange Krush from making the trip – and, most importantly, continuing its annual prank at a visiting arena. As it it has in previous years, the Orange Krush arrived to the game in the home team’s colors (blue and white), only to later reveal their true colors.
If we’ve learned one thing from Traevon Jackson during his Wisconsin career, it’s that he isn’t afraid to take – and make – the big shot. The junior, who has a handful of late game-tying or game-winning shots to his name, added another game-winner in Sunday’s 60-58 victory over No. 8 Michigan State. This time, following an Adreian Payne game-tying triple, Jackson answered with a jumper to avoid overtime and a possible fourth straight home loss.
No. 3 Minnesota upset No. 1 Penn State, 18-17, in front of 5,603 fans at the Sports Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, the Gophers clinched a share of the 2014 Big Ten Dual Meet Championship. Penn State, which won a share of the title with its victory over Michigan last Sunday, was going for the outright crown.
