The bad news: Progress has made glacial tangible progress under Beckman, who is 6-18 overall in two years and 1-15 in the Big Ten.

The way Le’Veon Bell hurdled defenders during his final season at Michigan State, it should come as no surprise the Pittsburgh Steelers running back can dunk with absolute ease. Bell, the 2012 Big Ten rushing leader, recently posted a video of himself putting on a personal dunk contest to his Instagram account. It was an impressive showcase. We decided to have a little fun providing a preview to this year’s B1G Wrestling Championships on March 8-9 at Wisconsin. BTN wrestling analyst Jim Gibbons, an NCAA champion both as a wrestler and coach at Iowa State, will break down one weight class a day, and pick a winner, each day through March 7. Today, it’s the 149-pound weight class.
The last week of Big Ten action is at our doorstep. Michigan is looking to wrap up the outright Big Ten title, Wisconsin is looking to extend a seven-game winning streak and make a push for a share of the crown, while Nebraska, Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois are looking to make pushes for the NCAA tourney.
The good times are rolling at Minnesota, as Jerry Kill continues to put his stamp on the program. The proof: The Golden Gophers’ win total has improved each of Kill’s three seasons, going from three to six to eight victories last season. The guy has won at every stop in his career.
Michigan’s game at Illinois game tonight (read the review) that will take place tonight didn’t look so interesting a few weeks ago. Now, it drips with intrigue. A win would wrap up the outright Big Ten title for the Wolverines, the program’s first since 1985-86. But they know the threat that the Fighting Illini poses, having won three in a row and held their last four foes under 50 points.
