Wisconsin picked up 177 yards on the ground game during the first quarter, and the Badgers lead 14-0. Wisconsin’s defense shut down Indiana’s aerial attack in the quarter, holding the Hoosiers to 30 passing yards. The Badgers got on the scoreboard first, rattling off an eight-play, 69-yard drive that ended in a score when Montee Ball ran 10 yards to paydirt. Purdue held Iowa to 19 yards on the ground during the first quarter and the Boilermakers lead 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. Purdue scored when Akeem Shavers pounded in a three-yard touchdown run to cap a nine-play, 68-yard drive, giving the Boilermakers the game’s first lead. Robert Marve’s 23-yard pass to Shavers took Purdue from the 42 and across midfield to ignite the drive.

Iowa took home a victory, 86-55 over Texas-Pan American on Friday. Aaron White helped spark Iowa (1-0), with 16 points and 6-of-9 shooting from the field. A 17-2 run led the Hawkeyes to an early 15-point lead. White knocked down a field goal that capped off the run by the Hawkeyes and helped Iowa lead 45-24 at the half.

Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 25 points – including career point No. 1,000 – and grabbed 10 rebounds and Trey Burke added 21 points as they teamed up to lead No. 5 Michigan to a 100-62 victory over Slippery Rock on Friday at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.
