STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The BTN Football Tour took us to Penn State camp Thursday. My first thought: Bill O’Brien runs a great practice. No doubt who is in charge here, as O’Brien is a commanding presence on the field who is organized and intense. The front-line players are very nice. The depth? Meh.

The BTN Football Tour has reached Penn State, stop No. 3 of 12 across Big Ten country. Our guys, Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Tom Dienhart, took in Thursday’s practice, and they tweeted their thoughts throughout the session. Get the best tweets in this post.
SI.com released its 2013 Preseason All-America Team on Thursday, and seven Big Ten players made the cut. Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier and Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby led the way as first-teamers, while Nebraska guard Spencer Long, Michigan State linebacker Max Bullough, Wisconsin linebacker Chris Borland and Northwestern kicker Jeff Budzien made the second team.
When it comes to traveling, Jim Delany is the best. The Big Ten commissioner hitched a ride on the BTN bus during the first three stops—Indiana, Ohio State and Penn State–of our tour of training camps.
