In the span of 102 seconds, cornerbacks Ricardo Allen and Josh Johnson registered back-to-back interception returns for scores. 1st Quarter Recap: Purdue 14, Marshall 7

Purdue’s passing attack looked sharp in the first 15 minutes of action, with 115 yards, and the Boilermakers lead 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. Purdue took the game’s first lead after Caleb TerBush tossed a nine-yard touchdown to Gary Bush on the last play of a 12-play, 89-yard drive.

1st Quarter Recap: Ohio State 7, Michigan State 3

No. 14 Ohio State racked up 67 rushing yards in the first, and the Buckeyes lead 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. Ohio State got on the scoreboard first, rattling off a seven-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a score when Jordan Hall turned a handoff into a one-yard touchdown. The Buckeyes threw just one time during that series.

Did You See This? Colter's four rushing TDs

Kain Colter had a day to remember in Northwestern’s Big Ten opener against Indiana on Saturday. The junior ran for a career-high four touchdowns, to go along with 161 rushing yards and 131 receiving yards – both game highs – as the Wildcats improved to 5-0 with a 44-29 victory. Colter’s scores came on runs of eight, eight, 15 and 22 yards. Watch all four scoring scampers now.

Penn State rolls Illinois, tallies third straight win

Matt McGloin threw for 211 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores to lead Penn State to a 35-7 win over Illinois Saturday in the schools’ Big Ten opener. Sophomore running back Zach Zwinak added 100 yards and two touchdowns for Penn State (3-2). The Nittany Lions forced three turnovers and held the Illini (2-3) scoreless for the first 34 minutes.
