Twitter: About those Michigan, & Ohio State uniforms...

There was a ton of talk about the uniforms leading up to Michigan’s thrilling win over Ohio State on Tuesday, and for good reason. Both looks, let’s just say, made bold fashion statements, as Michigan’s adidas monochromatic look could blind someone and Ohio State’s Nike Hyper Elite uniform could be mistaken for a practice jersey. Once the game tipped off, the talk got even better, even funnier. Here are the uniforms: See several of the tweets about the Ohio State and Michigan unis below. No. 3 Michigan outlasts No. 10 Ohio State in overtime

Tim Hardaway Jr. brought Michigan back with a relentless streak of 3-point shooting, then blocked a shot by Aaron Craft in the final seconds of overtime to give the third-ranked Wolverines a 76-74 victory over No. 10 Ohio State on Tuesday night. Hardaway finished with 23 points, including five straight 3-pointers in the second half. The Wolverines (21-2, 8-2 Big Ten) led by two points when Craft rushed the ball into the frontcourt after a missed Michigan free throw. He got all the way to the basket, but Hardaway was there to smother his last-ditch attempt to tie it. [

Purdue controls second half, drops Penn State

Ronnie Johnson scored 16 points and A.J. Hammons 15 as Purdue downed Penn State 58-49 Tuesday night to even its Big Ten Conference record at 5-5 while keeping Penn State winless in the conference. The Boilermakers (12-11) struggled through shooting woes, going 0 for 10 on 3-pointers and shooting 40.8 percent (20 of 49) overall. But it was considerably better than Penn State’s 19-of-62 (30.6 percent) performance. Combined, the two teams were 2 for 30 from 3-point range. Take charge: A look at "Big 4's" remaining slates

There are four schools that I think have legit shots to win the Big Ten as we enter the final five weeks of the season: Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. (Yes, Wisconsin still has a shot, but I don’t think it can match the other four.) Here’s a look at the remaining schedules for Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State with projected wins and losses, second-half record and how they will finish. Video: Bev Plocki talks Michigan gymnastics

Michigan women’s gymnastics is back. After missing last season’s NCAA Championships – this from a program that won 18 of the last 21 Big Ten Championships – Michigan has spent time this season atop the national poll. Currently, the Wolverines are  No. 3 and they own the conference’s latest Big Ten Gymnast of the Week, Joanna Sampson. Watch our full interview with Michigan coach Bev Plocki now. Dienhart: Ranking the week's 11 games

The beat goes on in the Big Ten as we enter the second half of the season with Indiana sitting atop the polls for a second time this season. Three teams have a chance to make a statement this week: Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin. The Hoosiers will have their mettle tested by games at Illinois and at Ohio State. Here is how I rank the Big Ten games this week. 1. Ohio State at Michigan, Tuesday. The Buckeyes beat the Wolverines, 56-53, earlier this season in Columbus. And Ohio State is hot, having won four in a row. How

Northwestern, Chicago Cubs ink historic agreement

Northwestern football will be back at Wrigley Field. On Tuesday, Northwestern and the Chicago Cubs announced a long-term partnership that includes five future football games in the Friendly Confines. [ NUSports.com: Northwestern athletics, Chicago Cubs announce historic partnership ] The agreement also allows opportunities for many of Northwestern’s 19 varsity programs to play at Wrigley Field. One date already has been set, in fact: April 20, when the Northwestern baseball team hosts Michigan. The dates for the five football games are pending due to the scheduling of Wrigley Field’s recently announced restoration project. The Wildcats played rival Illinois at Wrigley

Dienhart: Time for midseason Big Ten honors

We are halfway through the Big Ten season, and the conference hasn’t disappointed. All of that preseason hype about being the top conference has proven to be true, with Indiana and Michigan already haven taken turns sitting atop the national polls. And Michigan State, Minnesota and Wisconsin all have impressed to varying degrees. Here’s how I size up the conference at midseason. All maize: Michigan to wear new adidas uniform Tuesday

No. 10 Ohio State won’t be the only team sporting a new look for Tuesday night’s rivalry game at No. 3 Michigan. On Monday, the Wolverines announced they will debut an adidas maize monochromatic uniform, in addition to some flashy maize shoes. The uniform design should look familiar. Nebraska and Wisconsin, also adidas teams, wore their versions of it for the teams’ meeting last month, and they’ll do so again Feb. 26 in Madison. Also, the NBA donned similar threads for its Christmas Day marathon. The biggest complaint about this latest adidas design is that it can be difficult to

Power Rankings: Hoosiers make statement
