Power Rankings: Surging Illini continue ascent

John Groce’s Illini continued their torrid play this week, dispatching Purdue and Northwestern, teams they lost to earlier this season. Monday's web links: Oladipo & Hawkeyes, Illini's NCAA hopes

After a less-than-scintillating Sunday of hoops—Who knew Penn State-Michigan would be the best game?–let’s hope Tuesday’s huge Indiana and Michigan State game lives up to the hype. So, I’m gonna jump ahead and start daily links there. The IU-MSU game figures to be a lot better if Hoosiers star Victor Oladipo is able to play after injuring an ankle in a blowout of Purdue on Saturday. But what if the versatile weapon can’t play for an Indiana team that has lost 17 in a row in the Breslin Center? If Oladipo is a no-go, Will Sheehey would have to step

THON nets record $12.3 million, passes $100M all time

Penn State, you did it again. For the second consecutive year, THON, the school’s annual fundraiser, set a record for money raised to help fight pediatric cancer. This year, the students’ 46 straight hours of dancing, which concluded at 4 p.m. Sunday, resulted in $12.3 million. Add it all up, and since the event debuted in 1977, it’s raised more than $100 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. Video: Watch Ryan Evans' powerful putback

Prior to Sunday’s tip vs. Ohio State, Wisconsin’s Ryan Evans was listed as questionable due to illness. Evans started despite being under the weather, and it’s a good thing he did. Not only did he help No. 20 Wisconsin beat No. 13 Ohio State, the senior provided one of the best individual highlights of his career with a remarkable second-half putback. Watch the dunk now and see the Twitter reaction to it in this post. Here are some of the tweets following Evans’ slam: I thought Ryan Evans is sick? Did You See This? GRIII's dunk-a-thon vs. Penn State

Glenn Robinson III was mired in a slump entering Sunday’s game versus Penn State. Averaging just 4.5 points and shooting 29 percent in the previous four games, Robinson went a perfect 6-of-6 from the field in Michigan’s 79-71 win. Playing aggressive again, five of Robinson III’s buckets were slams, including a few of the highlight-reel variety. Watch the freshman’s dunk-a-thon that helped him tie a career high with 21 points now. [ RELATED: Looking for a particular slam?
