2012-2013 Senior Day for Iowa

Prior to Saturday’s season-finale victory over Nebraska, Iowa honored two-time captain Eric May and walk-on Christopher Rickert on Senior Day. May, the lone player left from the Todd Lickliter regime and a crowd favorite, grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists and had a steal Saturday to help the Hawkeyes claim their first 20-win season since 2005-06 and their first .500 conference clip since 2006-07. No. 4 seed Michigan State held off fifth-seeded Michigan 62-46 to advance to the Saturday’s semifinals of the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament. It’s the Spartans eighth trip to the semifinals in the past 10 seasons.

2013 Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament - Penn State vs. Ohio State

Alex Bentley scored 20 points, Maggie Lucas added 18, and No. 8 Penn State beat Ohio State 76-66 Friday in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament. The top-seeded Lady Lions (25-4) had their difficulties in this one after earning a first-round bye and their second straight regular-season title with a 14-2 conference record. But they went on a big run early in the second half to break a tie and earn a spot in Saturday’s semifinals against the Michigan-Michigan State winner.
