'The Journey' spotlights Chris Street tribute

On Sunday night’s “The Journey: Big Ten Basketball 2013,” we featured Tom Crean, Bacari Alexander and Chris Street. The latter was honored this past week, on the 20th anniversary of his death, and “The Journey” was there to give fans an all-access look at how the Hawkeyes honored their legend. We even had cameras in the locker room to capture Street’s family congratulating the Hawkeyes and Fran McCaffery presenting the Game Ball to the Street’s. Watch the segment now.

Trey Burke scored 19 points and No. 2 Michigan never trailed after the opening minutes of a 74-60 win Sunday over Illinois that could push the Wolverines to No. 1 in the nation for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

Purdue takes down Iowa in overtime

Terone Johnson had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Ronnie Johnson scored 15 to lead Purdue to a 65-62 victory over Iowa on Sunday. Donnie Hale had 12 points and five rebounds and D.J. Byrd had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Boilermakers (11-9, 4-3 Big Ten), who have won four of their last five.

No. 8 Indiana outlasts No. 11 Michigan State

Victor Oladipo took control for No. 8 Indiana in the opening minutes Sunday and never let go. The junior guard scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds and finished with six steals, leading the Hoosiers to a 75-70 victory over No. 11 Michigan State.

Women's hoops roundup: Iowa upsets Michigan

Sunday featured a trio of big matchups on the Big Ten women’s hardwood. Iowa went into Ann Arbor and took down Michigan, 63-57, No. 8 Penn State moved to 7-0 in conference play with a 71-56 victory at Ohio State, and No. 13 Purdue topped Michigan State, 67-62, in overtime. Video: Tour Penn State's Pegula Ice Arena

You’ve heard of Happy Valley. Wait until you see Hockey Valley. Penn State’s new hockey home, Pegula Ice Arena, is a sight to behold. The new facility, which will open for the 2014 season, included an $80 million construction fee, and it’s pretty easy to see where all the money went. With a capacity of 6,000, Pegula will be the smallest arena in the Big Ten, however it was constructed to have the fans right on the ice. Watch Kara Lentz’s all-access tour of the new arena now.
