And count the great Loren Tate of the Champaign News-Gazette among those who also are impressed with Michigan, which quelled any notion Illinois had of upsetting the Wolverines with impressive penetration and passing on Sunday en route to improving to 19-1 with a win over the Fighting Illini.

'The Journey' spotlights Chris Street tribute

On Sunday night’s “The Journey: Big Ten Basketball 2013,” we featured Tom Crean, Bacari Alexander and Chris Street. The latter was honored this past week, on the 20th anniversary of his death, and “The Journey” was there to give fans an all-access look at how the Hawkeyes honored their legend. We even had cameras in the locker room to capture Street’s family congratulating the Hawkeyes and Fran McCaffery presenting the Game Ball to the Street’s. Watch the segment now.

No. 1 next? No. 2 Michigan topples Illinois, 74-60

Trey Burke scored 19 points and No. 2 Michigan never trailed after the opening minutes of a 74-60 win Sunday over Illinois that could push the Wolverines to No. 1 in the nation for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

Purdue takes down Iowa in overtime

Terone Johnson had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Ronnie Johnson scored 15 to lead Purdue to a 65-62 victory over Iowa on Sunday. Donnie Hale had 12 points and five rebounds and D.J. Byrd had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Boilermakers (11-9, 4-3 Big Ten), who have won four of their last five.
