Deshaun Thomas overcame a slow start to score 19 points and No. 18 Ohio State used a 16-0 second-half run to beat Minnesota 71-45 on Wednesday night. Shannon Scott added 11 points and LaQuinton Ross 10 for the Buckeyes, who have won the last six meetings with the Golden Gophers overall and the last six in Columbus.

During a timeout in the first half of Ohio State’s win over Minnesota on Wednesday, Ohio State legend and Big Ten Icon (No. 8) Jerry Lucas was recognized on the court. Lucas, a three-time All-American, three-time Big Ten Most Valuable Player, two-time National Player of the Year and two-time Final Four MVP, received his NCAA Tournament Top 75 Player trophy. Women's roundup: Indiana nips Purdue on buzzer-beater

Jasmine McGhee hit a buzzer-beater to help Indiana upset in-state rival and No. 22 Purdue, 62-61, on Wednesday night at Assembly Hall. The game-winning shot accounted for just two of McGhee’s game-high 26 points. The Hoosier was an impressive 11-of-17 from the field in the upset. No edition of daily links on this morning could start anywhere but with last night’s big Indiana 72-68 win at Michigan State. The victory ended a miserable 17-game losing skid for the No. 1 Hoosiers at Michigan State. But, more importantly, it put Indiana alone in first place in the Big Ten and in firm control of its destiny. In fact, it will take a big flop by the Hoosiers for them not to win the Big Ten for the first time since 2002 back when IU lost the national title game to Maryland. Games remain at Minnesota; vs. Iowa; vs. Ohio State; at Michigan.
