Sunday's baseball roundup: Michigan State nips Illinois

Michigan State baseball beat Illinois on Sunday afternoon at McLane Stadium, 4-3, thanks to a three-run home run to left field by junior Joel Fisher. The Spartans (26-14, 9-6 Big Ten) were trailing 3-1 in the eighth before Fisher sent the seniors home with a win in the final home weekend at McLane. Illinois fell to 28-15 and 9-9 in the conference. Sunday's softball roundup: Wolverines drop Wildcats

Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the third, junior Caitlin Blanchard crushed a two-run homer to put No. 10 Michigan on top for good in a 9-3 victory over Northwestern on Sunday at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field.
