This time, Denard Robinson reaches plate on first pitch

One week after throwing out the first pitch at Comerica Park, Michigan product Denard Robinson was at it again at Tuesday’s Notre Dame-Michigan game. This time, Robinson did the honors in a No. 42 Michigan jersey, an obvious tribute to Jackie Robinson Day. Oh, and unlike the Tigers’ game, Robinson reached the plate and came close to throwing a strike. Much better, Denard!

As if Jack Hoffman’s memorable 69-yard touchdown run in Nebraska’s spring game wasn’t cool enough, the seven-year-old brain cancer patient now has a trading card to commemorate the touching moment. Upper Deck has produced a Hoffman trading card, which includes “RB NEBRASKA” under his name and “Star Rookie” written vertically on the lower left side.

Dienhart: Purdue continues to forge change

Purdue has turned the page for the second time since Joe Tiller stepped aside after the 2008 season, as the wraps are taken off the Darrell Hazell era. One of the top goals this spring was to change attitudes, revise expectations and get tough. Dienhart: Indiana is a program on the rise
