Let the games begin on Week Three of the Big Ten season! On the surface, it doesn’t look like a great week. The headliner? It’s tonight’s Wisconsin at Indiana game, which drips with some interesting storylines.
Tonight at 10 p.m. ET BTN Originals presents a new episode of Big Ten Elite presented by Chase featuring the 1989 National Champion Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team. The show looks back at an unforgettable season in Ann Arbor that saw the Wolverines, led by Glen Rice, overcome the adversity of head coach Bill Frieder leaving to take the Arizona State head job just prior to the start of the 1989 NCAA Tournament.

The top-ranked Minnesota men’s hockey team padded its lead atop the Big Ten standings by downing Penn State, 5-2, at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa. Monday night. Sam Warning snapped a 14-game goalless drought with a pair of goals to guide the Gophers to a series sweep in the first-ever conference series at the new PSU hockey facility.
One of these days, new Penn State football coach James Franklin will get to relax and catch up on some sleep. Not yet, though, as Franklin has engagement after engagement on campus and plenty of people to meet. On Monday night, the former Vanderbilt coach took in the hockey game vs. No. 1 Minnesota. Franklin was kind enough to stop by our broadcast booth for an interview. Watch our interview with Franklin in this post.

With Ohio State losing a pair of games this past week, there was quite the shakeup near the top of my Big Ten Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. There also was movement at the bottom, as Northwestern is no longer in the cellar.
