Terone Johnson

Video: Purdue honors Johnson, other seniors

Following Sunday’s season-finale loss to Northwestern, Purdue honored its four senior players, including Terone Johnson, at Mackey Arena. Johnson and Travis Carroll helped Purdue make the NCAA tournament in each of their first two seasons, in 2011 and 2012, the Boilermakers’ last NCAA appearances. Jon Ekey

Video: Jon Ekey's last-second triple downs Iowa

It’s safe to say Jon Ekey won’t hit a bigger shot in his Illinois career. The Illini senior, who played three seasons at Illinois State, drained a memorable last-second 3-pointer to lift Illinois to a 66-63 season-ending road win Saturday night at No. 24 Iowa. With the dramatic victory, the Illini enters next week’s Big Ten tourney having won four of their last five games. Watch Ekey’s game-winning shot in this post. Zach McCabe

Iowa honors seniors Basabe, Marble & McCabe

Melsahn Basabe, Devyn Marble and Zach McCabe all were freshmen in Fran McCaffery’s first season. That being the case, along with McCaffery, they have played an instrumental role in making Iowa competitive again. Since an 11-20 campaign as freshmen, the trio has helped the Hawkeyes compile a 63-40 clip, including a run to last season’s NIT title game. Before Saturday night’s game the trio was honored on Senior Night. Watch the ceremony in this post. Jordan Morgan

Jordan Morgan gets emotional on Senior Night

Jordan Morgan has helped Michigan raise a few banners at the Crisler Center. Michigan fans were able to formally thank him for his efforts prior to Saturday night’s game vs. Indiana. The lone senior on the 2014 Big Ten champions, Morgan was showered with love during his Senior Night ceremony. The appreciation meant a lot to him, too, evidenced by his eyes getting a little watery. Editor’s note: Our apologies, but our live feed of Morgan’s ceremony didn’t include audio. However, we wanted to share the ceremony, audio or not. What a season for the Michigan Wolverines. The regular season officially came to a close in Saturday night’s 84-80 victory over Indiana, and now it’s onto the postseason for the Big Ten champs. But before the Wolverines even thought about the Big Ten tournament, they had to cut down the nets and make the celebration official. Check out photos of Michigan’s celebration in this post. Over the next 6 minutes, Nebraska upped that margin

Troy Williams

Video: Troy Williams explodes for And-1 dunk

Every now and then, Troy Williams offers a glimpse into why some basketball minds think he boasts Victor Oladipo-like athleticism. The Indiana freshman had one of those moments early in the first half Saturday at No. 12 Michigan. Let’s just say, Williams didn’t care that it was Jordan Morgan’s senior night. Check out his And-1 dunk in this post. INSTANT HIGHLIGHT: Holy, Troy Williams! Check out the @IndianaMBB frosh's latest highlight dunk. Kevin Wilson

Dienhart: Defense key for Indiana in spring

It has been slow, steady growth for Indiana under Kevin Wilson. And, that’s good. Progress is being made as the Hoosiers inch closer to their first bowl since the 2007 season. Indiana won one game in Wilson’s first year, four in the second and five last season, when the Hoosiers came oh-so-close to breaking through. That home loss to Minnesota was a killer and proved to be Indiana’s Waterloo. Still, Wilson has much to build on as he opens his fourth season in Bloomington. And Wilson will do so with new coordinators on both sides of the ball. Offensive coordinator
