Josh Dezse

Video: Josh Dezse homers in back-to-back at-bats

Ohio State’s Josh Dezse hit his first home run of the season in his final at-bat Saturday. On Sunday, he homered his first two times up to make it three straight plate appearances with a home run. According to @OhioStae_BASE, Dezse is the first Ohio State player to homer in consecutive at-bats since 2011. Dezse, who finished 3-for-4 with 4 RBI, was intentionally walked his next time up. Watch both of Dezse’s bombs in this post. Oh, and the Buckeyes beat Penn State, 12-6, to take the series. .@OhioState_BASE @OhioStAthletics Mr. April? #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/3Sq6A8TMyc — Brutus Buckeye (@Brutus_Buckeye) April 13,

Bo Pelini

Photo: Check out this Bo Pelini 'Lion King' photoshop

After Bo Pelini’s memorable entrance Saturday at Memorial Stadium, it was only a matter of time before “The Lion King” photoshop jobs hit social media. In case you missed it, Pelini held a cat in his arms during the team’s famous tunnel walk, and he raised it into the air once he entered the field. The moment reminded many of this iconic scene from the Disney classic. Dienhart: It was a good spring for Ohio State

As far as dress rehearsals go, this one was a success … I guess. The final score said Gray 17, Scarlet 7. Not sure what it really means. But, it doesn’t really matter now, does it? These spring games are equal parts glorified practices/pep rallies/excuses to tailgate. But, who cares? It’s a celebration of football. And, that’s OK in my book. Let’s give today’s sun-splashed Buckeye spring game a sideways thumb’s up. Meh. The highlight was a halftime footrace between some members of the student body and some of the fastest Buckeyes. This was made-for-TV fun who by—as you would

Jeremiah Sirles

Video: Jeremiah Sirles proposes at spring game

Nearly one month after Mike Peltz proposed to his girlfriend on senior night, former Nebraska offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles did the same at Saturday’s spring game. Sirles got on a knee during the team’s Punt, Pass and Kick part of the scrimmage. As he was about to punt the ball, he dropped it, reached into his left pocket, walked toward his girlfriend, and took a knee. Watch the proposal in this post. Jack Hoffman

Video: One year later, Jack Hoffman talks TD run

It was just a year ago that Jack Hoffman, then 7, introduced himself to the world with his memorable and emotional touchdown run in Nebraska’s spring game. It’s been a whirlwind year since the brain cancer patient took the handoff from Taylor Martinez and sprinted to paydirt last April. Hoffman has met the President, had an Upper Deck card made and won an ESPY. We caught up with Jack and father Andy Hoffman at Saturday’s spring game. To this day, Andy and the whole Hoffman family are so grateful for the opportunity Bo Pelini and the Huskers provided them. “Jack

OSU student beats Dontre Wilson in 40-yard dash

Ohio State tailback Dontre Wilson is thought of by many to be the fastest player in the Big Ten… Not so fast! Urban Meyer invited OSU students to challenge several Buckeye football players in a race during halftime of Saturday’s Scarlet and Gray spring football game. Wilson was viewed by many to be the overall favorite to win the race, but OSU senior Malcolm Branson, who is a Criminal Justice major, cruised to a victory in the 40-yard dash. Watch the race here: OSU students challenged Dontre Wilson in the 40-yard dash. Were any faster than the Buckeye? @OhioStAthletics http://t.co/h5TVcvm8I1

Bo Pelini

Video: Bo Pelini enters Nebraska spring game with cat

The way Bo Pelini’s been delighting the masses on social media since the end of last season, you had a feeling he was going to do something special Saturday at Nebraska’s spring game. He did something special, all right, carrying a cat in his arms for the team’s famed tunnel walk. As Pelini entered the field, he hoisted it above his head – a move that delighted the fans and reminded many of “The Lion King.” If you haven’t paid attention recently, Pelini and his fake Twitter account @FauxPelini, which has a photo of Pelini holding a cat as its
