Northwestern announced Tuesday that running back Venric Mark‘s application for a medical hardship waiver has been approved by the Big Ten Conference, rendering Mark eligible to return for a fifth season with the Wildcats in 2014.

The college basketball season is just past the midway point, and the Big Ten picture is beginning to take shape. With five teams ranked in the latest polls, it’s clear the Big Ten is, once again, one of the nation’s elite conferences.
If Buckeyes fans aren’t feeling good today, we understand. That’s four losses in a row for Ohio State, which fell at Nebraska last night to a Cornhuskers’ squad that was 0-4 in the Big Ten. This is OSU’s longest losing skid since 2007-08.
Nebraska entered Monday night’s contest vs. Ohio State winless in the Big Ten (0-4) and o-fer vs. the Buckeyes (0-6) since joining the Big Ten. So, one knew if the Huskers pulled off the upset of the 17th-ranked team, a court storming could be in store. The Huskers carded the upset, 68-62, and the fans did the expected.
