Nebraska has been looking for a consistently strong defense the last three years. Well, the Cornhuskers finally may have one. In fact, Nebraska may have one of the best defenses in the Big Ten this fall. The unit has teased in recent years while also suffering some big meltdowns. Who can forget the 2012 Big Ten title game, a 70-31 loss to Wisconsin that saw Nebraska allow 640 yards of offense and 539 yards on the ground?

The defense has grown since then, as it continues to work in talented youngsters for a unit that ranked sixth in the Big Ten in scoring (24.8 ppg) and No. 4 in total defense (370.8 ppg).
